Hanse has released the first pictures of the Hanse 590, a premium luxury family cruiser with the space of a mini super-yacht.
The renders reveal a shared arresting design aesthetic with the new Hanse 510 and Hanse 460 Berret-Racoupeau hulls featuring a reverse bow, wide beam that confers excellent form stability, hull chines, along with a marked flare above the waterline aft that will reduce wetted surface area and deliver impressive light air performance.
The generous beam carried right aft and well forward should provide supremely spacious accommodations – anticipated to be three huge double cabins in the standard configuration – along with plenty of layout and styling options, yet rewarding to sail and able to be handled short-handed by a couple or family.
A clue to the 590’s short-handed credentials is the winches positioned inboard beside and in front of the twin helm stations, so within easy reach of the steerer/skipper. The helms are also
pushed right back to the transom, creating a huge social space forward in the cockpit with enough room for an informal lounge/dining space on either side of a central companionway leading below.
The renders show an enormous T-top shading the entire cockpit with glass windscreen providing protection from wind and waves in fresh conditions. T-tops on Hanse 460s have proved popular with Australian owners who recognise its advantages in the type of relaxed outdoor lifestyle suited to cruising here.
According to the Press Release issued by Hanse the 590 will be available in a wide range of styles and finishes for an Owner to choose from plus high-quality appointments including the Smart Tender System that’s worked well on the 510.
“The Hanse 590 offers diverse design options below deck including the extremely spacious owner’s cabin and above deck the well thought-out cockpit with plenty of space and freedom of movement. From the optional hardtop, the largest in her class, which provides shade and protection when required, to the sun lounge on the foredeck and the large dinghy garage with the Smart Tender System behind the huge bathing platform, the Hanse 590 offers every amenity that is possible in this class.”
There’ll also be the option of bow and stern thrusters to assist in getting the Hanse 590 in and out of tight marina berths.
The Hanse 590 will receive a glitzy World Premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, but we’ll be able to get a first look at this magnificent bluewater cruiser sometime during the coming European summer.
The new Hanse 590 is the fifth new model in a line-up that includes the Hanse 360 revealed in January, the Hanse 410 revealed at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival, the Hanse 510 revealed at the Barcelona Boat Show in 2022, and the award-winning Hanse 460 that triumphed at the 2022 British Yachting Awards.
