The Contest 50CS exterior represents the latest in Contest’s design innovations, incorporating sleek, modern lines and practical, sailor-friendly solutions. With a refined, low-profile coach roof, the yacht’s aesthetics are as advanced as its functionality. The coach roof sweeps seamlessly into the aft, where the deep, two-section cockpit offers both comfort and protection, with coaming boards around the helm stations to deflect spray and ensure security at sea.
Twin helm stations with protective coamings allow for safe and effortless navigation, with a walkthrough passage providing easy access throughout the cockpit area. All primary winches, lines, and sheets are thoughtfully positioned for easy handling, whether by a single operator or a small crew. Equipped with an A-frame and hydraulic furling system, the 50CS ensures that raising and adjusting asymmetric sails is straightforward and efficient.
The deck is laid out with safety and practicality in mind: tall guardrails and numerous grab points are intuitively placed, making it easy for guests, even those less experienced with sailing, to move about confidently. Additionally, the flush deck design provides ample space and aesthetic appeal, while the optional synthetic teak decking ensures a durable, low-maintenance surface that stays cool underfoot.
The yacht’s hydraulic transom folds down to create a generous bathing platform, providing direct water access and a convenient space for launching and retrieving the tender, which is stored in the dedicated tender garage. This setup removes the need for bulky davits on deck, preserving both the yacht’s clean lines and deck space.
The Contest 50CS interior is where this yacht truly shines, offering a level of space and comfort often associated with larger yachts. The beam carries well aft, which allows for a remarkably spacious master suite in the stern, fitted with an optional transom window—a feature introduced in the Contest 55CS—bringing in abundant light and stunning sea views. This aft suite is luxuriously appointed with fine materials and clever storage solutions, embodying the thoughtful, high-end design that Contest is known for.
Amidships, the saloon benefits from the increased volume created by the wide beam, offering a light-filled space for relaxation and socialising. Large windows and meticulously chosen furnishings contribute to an open, airy feel that’s both sophisticated and inviting. The two-sided longitudinal galley, designed for functionality during passage, maximises counter space and storage, with top-tier appliances and fixtures suitable for extended stays on board.
At the bow, the spacious forward VIP suite provides a similarly grand experience, featuring an island berth and high-quality finishings, ensuring that guests enjoy the same comfort and luxury as the owner. The optional third cabin can be configured to serve as additional sleeping quarters or as a dedicated office space, reflecting the flexible design philosophy of the Contest 50CS.
Built for bluewater cruising, the Contest 50CS incorporates a Yanmar 81kW engine, alongside options for hybrid or fully electric propulsion, showcasing Contest’s commitment to sustainability. Photovoltaic solar panels can also be integrated into the coach roof, supporting longer off-grid cruising and reducing the vessel’s environmental footprint. A large 700L fuel and water capacity further enable long-range voyages with minimal stops.
Constructed using Contest’s vacuum-injection composite process, the yacht offers a quiet, sturdy ride that remains remarkably undisturbed even in rough conditions. The hull’s design minimises heeling and maximizes speed and agility, whether sailing upwind or on a relaxed broad reach, making the 50CS an excellent option for those seeking serious ocean-going capabilities with the elegance of a luxury cruiser.
With its blend of high-tech innovation, premium comfort, and sustainable options, the Contest 50CS captures the essence of a true bluewater yacht. This is a vessel built to satisfy the needs of serious sailors, providing a refined and comfortable platform for adventure, relaxation, and everything in between.
