Fresh from its World Premiere, the new Hanse 360 is attracting attention for its stylish looks, high level of customisation, and class-leading space.
The Cannes Yachting Festival often provides the first opportunity for the international boating press to check out the latest designs, and this edition of Europe’s biggest on-water boat show from 10-15 September saw the Hanse 360 centre-stage among the debutantes.
Hanse’s exciting new compact family cruiser has already garnered two prestigious nominations: one for European Yacht of the Year 2025 award, and the other for one of SAIL magazine’s Top 10 Boats for 2025.
SAIL recognised the Hanse 360’s highly acclaimed design heritage with Berret-Racoupeau, extending the new line that began with the Hanse 460 and Hanse 510 (both SAIL Top 10 Best Boats winners in 2023 and 2024 respectively) and now also the new Hanse 410.
“Remarkably, many of the same features you’ll find on this boat’s big sisters are integrated into this 36-footer. What that means is quick, sporty sailing and accommodations that are rather jaw-dropping for a boat of this size,” the SAIL nomination notes.
That’s facilitated by a mix of hard and soft chines that bring the generous beam forward above the waterline but maintain a relatively narrower hull shape below. The configuration translates into an extra roomy bow Owner’s cabin that features a large semi walk-around island bed with enough room for double pillows at the forepeak end, a real rarity for a boat in this size category. There’s also the option for an en-suite bathroom here, another feature normally only found on larger models.
Additionally, the 360’s 3.99 metre beam is carried all the way aft to create a spacious saloon with nav table, large galley with optional extra fridges, and plenty of volume for the aft cabins. The port aft cabin can be a deep sail locker/wet space/storage with access from the cockpit that’s also easily capable of storing a decent sized deflated dinghy.
The starboard aft cabin boasts a 2.05-metre-long double berth and is the slightly bigger aft one in the three-cabin version of the 360. There’s ample natural ventilation thanks to a vertical window that opens into the cockpit and a coach house hatch captures any cooling breeze across the deck.
The cockpit is the heart of any sailing yacht, it’s where the crew spend the majority of their time and the Hanse 360 benefits from some standard-setting dimensions here. Relax around an upgraded cockpit table with a Raymarine Axiom 12-inch Chartplotter, Isotherm fridge, handy storage box and pop-up light. The comfortable cockpit cushions have deep backrests and there’s good access back between the twin wheels to the ample swim platform with neatly integrated ladder. An external grill can be installed between the two folding helm seats.
Like all Hanse yachts, the 360 utilises the brand’s signature self-tacking jib system, as well as having all lines led to the helm station and the option of electric winches, enabling the boat to be effectively sailed by a couple or solo.
Here's a tour of the 360’s cockpit and deck:
In terms of performance, the Hanse 360 leaves little to complain about for a cruising boat.
The 16.75 metre rig carries a 35 square metre standard mainsail, with square-top 40 sqm performance or furling 33 sqm versions also available. A self-tacking jib is standard with an optional reacher or a Code Zero tacked to the bow sprit which extends the overall length to 11.32m or 37ft 2”.
According to the factory supplied Velocity Prediction Programme sailing at an optimum upwind angle of 40° in 14 knots of true wind the Hanse 360 achieves a very respectable boat speed of 6.5 knots.

Responding to growing demand for more hybrid and electric propulsion, Hanse offers a range of auxiliary drives for the 360: 29 hp or 39 hp diesel engines from Yanmar and 25 kW electric motors with 18.4 or 36.7 kWh batteries. Solar panels with up to 180 Wp can also be ordered, as can an Efoy fuel cell with a maximum charging capacity of 250 ampere-hours per day.
With 12 possible layout combinations, your Hanse 360 can be tailored to your taste and preferences including choices of furniture finishes, interior surfaces and fabrics, floorboards, galley worktops, right down to six colours of cockpit cushions to decide from.
The new Hanse 360 replaces the Hanse 348 and Hanse 388 models which have proved extremely competent family cruisers, capable of coastal passages and bluewater cruising. It appears with her exceptionally high volume at 36 feet in length, her practical and stylish layout options and wide range of customisation options, the new Hanse 360 is in a class of her own.
