Big savings on Fjord models as Boot Düsseldorf winds up for 2025
Despite the temperature hovering just a few degrees above zero and located over 200 kilometres from the nearest coastline, the ancient Rhine riverport of Düsseldorf in January is a magnet for boating types from all over the globe.
By the time the world’s largest indoor boat show wraps up this weekend, an estimated 250,000 people will have passed through the giant 17 halls showcasing the latest and best offerings from the marine industry.
As usual Fjord has had a stylish presence at ‘Boot’, as it’s known, exhibiting previous European Powerboat of the Year award winner, the Fjord 41 XL.
Club Marine reviewed this innovative and spacious day boat and came away impressed, by the 41 XL’s aesthetics: “military precision in its looks, yet still oozes sports appeal”, and its use of space: “an almost unbelievable amount of space coupled with a thoroughly fun drive.”

Fjord 39 XL
Premiering at last year’s Cannes Yachting Festival the Fjord 39 XL has already earnt impressive accolades. According to UK based Adventure Boating Magazine POWERBOAT & RIB the 39 XL is “a top-tier day boat….the fit, finish and engineering are of the highest standard.”
Fjord 39 XL’s deck layout makes best possible use of the boat’s wide 3.87 metre beam with the display model at Cannes featuring three helm seats (option), backing onto a transverse galley, with a large central dinette and an aft sunpad. There are six alternative main deck layouts, revolving around the use of aft benches, a galley and a T-top.
Down below there’s a generous master cabin with a queen berth and en-suite bathroom, with the choice of two lower deck arrangements that subtly tweak the base layout’s bow cabin and starboard heads.
You get a full-beam aft swim platform with an electric ladder for user-friendly watersports that also provides a safe and stylish way to board from the stern.
The Fjord 39 XL comes standard with twin 320hp Volvo D4 diesels. The upgrade offer sees bigger 440 hp D6 versions installed with DPI Volvo stern drives, delivering heaps of low down torque and a higher top speed of 42 knots.
Fjord 39 XP
At 11.95 metres the outboard version of the Fjord 39 is slightly longer than its inboard sibling and benefits from substantial extra space under the electrically opening sunbed on the aft deck.
Boating discovered the Fjord 39 XP reset perceptions about dayboats:
“When looking at the Fjord 39 XP for the first time, gather up all your preconceived dayboat notions. Then toss them overboard. This is a delightful craft that breaks all the rules and is a fresh breath of dayboat air.”

Fjord 41 XL
In taking out the 2021 European Powerboat Award in the “Yachts up to 14 metres” class, the Fjord 41 XL showcased a unique combination of performance, comfort and design.
The judges praised the 41 XL for its pioneering modular deck options and the ability to configure nine different deck layouts. There’s a spacious master cabin in the bow with a double berth, two wardrobes and head with separate shower. A second cabin can be configured with another double berth or as a utility room with the option of an extra sofa and wardrobes.
In standard configuration the 41 XL is powered by twin Volvo Penta D6-340’s. The upgrade offers twin Volvo Penta D6-440’s boosting performance to a very respectable 38 knots.
Fjord 53 XL
The magnificent flagship of the Fjord range, the 53 XL offers the luxury of space as shown in a Motor Boat & Yachting walk thru video:
Wide steps lead from the expansive swim platform to the chic cockpit that offers relaxed dining and entertaining courtesy of two height adjustable foldable tables, a U-shaped bench with reversible backrest and two separate galley units with fridge and cooking grill. An integrated sun awning can be extended from the T-top to cover the sun pad at the rear that opens hydraulically to store a tender.
The 53 XL’s level of customisation is exceptional. Hull, deck mouldings and fabric colours are individual choices but there are also dozens of layout combinations on the main deck.
Down below the accommodations are flexible. The standard two-cabin, one-head layout can instead be specified with a fully-furnished second head for guests and even an additional third cabin, for crew or kids.
The Fjord 53 XL delivers plenty of down-the-line speed from either the standard twin Volvo Penta IPS700’s, but the IPS 800’s available through the Unleash the Power promotion push maximum speed out to 34 knots.
