Both above and below deck the Hanse 410 ticks a lot of boxes for the discerning Owner.
Since its release at the Cannes Yachting Festival last year the Hanse 410 has attracted a strong cohort of Owners from around the world, including Australia where one is due in the first half of 2025.
While voting has now closed for this year’s British Yachting Awards, Hanse was strongly represented last year with the Hanse 410 earing a ‘Highly Commended’ in the Cruising Yacht of the Year category.
The judges praised the 410’s impressive combination of: “High volume and high performance are the watchwords for all manufacturers of cruising yachts these days and Hanse’s latest design certainly ticks both boxes.”
There was praise as well for the 410’s interior configuration in its nomination for European Boat of the Year 2024: “Stand-out features from the interior were the number of stowage solutions, particularly on the two-cabin test boat. Offered as two or three cabins, the former provides a huge amount of stowage accessible the cockpit or interior. There’s more in the galley, and a multifunction space in the saloon, which can be a full length sofa berth, a proper chart table, or a standing desk with storage below.”

Prominent among the 410’s virtues as noted by various reviewers is its huge internal volume for yacht in this size category thanks to the full bow shape which means more space in the Owners cabin or guest cabins.
At the same time it also helps to make the boat better balanced than their finer-bowed predecessors and combined with a low-centre-of-gravity keels, large single rudder and generous rig means the 410 can offer good performance under sail in most conditions.
The 410 is available in five different internal layouts. The standard version has a large Owners cabin with island double berth in the bow, a generous dining area to port in the saloon with sofa to starboard, a roomy guest cabin aft to starboard and big storage locker to port. The L-shaped galley with top and front access to the fridge and soft-close drawers is to port as you come down the companionway, while the head has a separate shower stall.
Other versions offer up to three double cabins and two heads with a chart table, able to easily accommodate six people in comfort for weekend or coastal cruising. The cockpit with two tables is the biggest in its class and neatly divides into an entertaining and relaxing zone on two L-shaped lounges that convert into sunbeds while all sailing functions are out of the way further aft.
Like all Hanses, the 410 benefits from the signature self-tacking jib system that simplifies sail handling and enables a couple to easily sail the boat alone. There’s good sight lines forward from either of the twin wheels, and the winches (with the option of electric upgrades) are within easy reach. All sheets, halyards and reefing lines are led aft under the deck mouldings to a bank of Spinlock clutches.
The Hanse 410’s green credentials are also class leading thanks to an innovative new electric drive. The 410 is available with optional electric propulsion capable of a range of up to 55 nautical miles. Matched with optional lithium batteries, solar and a new Hydogen Fuel Cell you can maximise the energy required for non-wind propulsion and running the boat’s systems while minimising your impact on the environment.
